Champaign-Urbana has been Art Thoma's home for over 40 years, and he considers this an excellent community to raise a family and operate most any business. Originally from a north suburb of Chicago, Art attended the University of Illinois and received a BA degree in 1971. Following service as a US Army officer, he returned to Champaign-Urbana and began his highly accomplished real estate career in this area.

Art has devoted many hours to community service. He also jogs frequently and has many other hobbies and interests, including photography, scuba diving, hunting, housing projects, and cultural events. He and his wife, Diann, also enjoy bicycle touring. Art is a gourmet cook, and he enjoys planning and preparing a feast for friends.
