New Westlake Retail Project Announced
Peoria, Illinois, April 22, 2011 - Groundbreaking occurred on April 11, 2011 for Phase I of Sterling Commons, located within an outlot in front the Westlake Shopping Center. Phase I is fully leased; Phase II is now leasing. Sterling Commons is situated on 1.62 acres located at Sterling Avenue and Interstate 74.
Thomas Harrington III of Coldwell Banker Commercial Devonshire Realty (CBCDR) announced that three retail tenants will occupy Phase I, a 5,500 square foot building situated in front of the recently remodeled Westlake Shopping Center.
Harrington commented, "We are very happy to see construction begin on this exciting project. This was a very challenging site due to the title complexities. Phase I leasing indicates how strong the Westlake area has become for retailers and further indicates a rebound in the economy."
Eric Heard with Coldwell Banker Commercial Devonshire Realty is currently marketing the future second phase of the project. Phase II will target upscale retailers, including banks, fast casual restaurants, and specialty retailers.
"Peoria has been waiting for some time to see this site redeveloped. Phase II will offer incredible visibility from Sterling and Interstate 74, plus benefit from the high traffic coming in to Westlake Shopping Center and Northwoods Mall," said Heard.
Coldwell Banker Commercial Devonshire Realty provides a wide range of commercial real estate services including commercial brokerage, property management, building services, and signage. CBCDR has three offices in central Illinois, including Peoria, Champaign, and Springfield. For more information please visit www.cbcdr.com.
